5 Reasons to Add Energy Efficiency to Your Budget

2016 is the best year yet for an energy efficiency investment. With the extension of Federal 179D tax incentives through the end of the year, which allow a deduction of up to $1.80 sq. ft., and the reduced cost of efficient technology, there’s never been a better time to upgrade your facility!

Conducting an energy assessment now will give you time to explore multiple energy-saving opportunities, as well as the available rebates, incentives, and financing options.  If you know you want to cut operating costs and boost profit margins, then scheduling an assessment now will allow you to consider the options before the incentives run out.

Good to the Last Drop: Glass Bottle Recycling at the Houston Racquet Club

Napoleon once said; “in victory you deserve Champagne, in defeat you need it.”

No matter the outcome of each match, members of the Houston Racquet Club can sip on red, white, or bubbly after their battle on the court, on the field, or in the pool. But where do empty bottles go at the end of the day?

At the Houston Racquet Club, which has been ranked among the top 50 tennis clubs in the country, there’s not much room for unsightly dumpsters. Rather than send reusable materials to the landfill, Houston Racquet Club enlisted EES Consulting to help address their issue of limited space by establishing a successful off-site recycling program.

IMG_0995At the end of 2015, Houston Racquet Club had recycled more than 25,000 pounds of glass!

Their efforts have had a big environmental impact:

  • 4,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions avoided
  • 12.5 tons of natural resources saved
  • 11.75 tons of new glass can be created from HRC’s recycled glass
