On June 23rd, Mike Bowman, President of Hunt and Hunt, graciously allowed EES Consulting and the Greater Houston Manufacturers Association (GHMA) to take a tour of his manufacturing facility where they use robotics to facilitate their contract manufacturing services.
The event included a discussion of the energy efficiency upgrades Hunt and Hunt has implemented as well as their results with a tour of the facility directly following.
Three years ago, Hunt and Hunt hired EES Consulting to look at their two building to determine if energy efficiency was a viable solution for Hunt and Hunt.
“Our approach was to take a comprehensive look at the building and how we could make it more comfortable by looking at the heat coming in and through the envelope,” said Dan Parsley, President of EES Consulting.
The project was completed in three phases. The first phase consisted of reducing the amount of heat that comes into the building and reducing energy consumption by installing products that reject heat and retrofitting the outdated lighting. The second phase focused on cooling the space to make it more comfortable for Mike’s employees. The third phase consisted of installing products to supplement the savings of the first two phases.

Overall, the energy efficiency improvements have resulted in a 46% reduction in energy consumption and a much more comfortable space for everyone.
Mike has been very pleased with the results of the energy efficiency improvements and is always willing to invite business owners to visit his facility to see for themselves.
“When EES came in and said they could do it, I really didn’t think they would be able to but Dan was willing to take the equipment out if it didn’t work,” said Bowman. “It worked out and we’re really happy with the results.”
The event was an outstanding success with excellent turnout. We would like to thank Mike Bowman for so graciously hosting the group. Also, a special thank you to GHMA for coming out and learning more about Hunt and Hunt and EES Consulting.
